[edit] Introduction

You can use VideoLAN Client (VLC) to recieve an audio stream sent by anyone elses. VLC can also be used to be the server of the audio stream, but this tutorial focuses on the client side usage.

[edit] Steps

  1. Download and install VLC
  2. Run VLC
  3. Go to File > Open Network Stream...
  4. Choose the button that says HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS
  5. In the textbox next to that button, enter the address of stream you want to listen to. For example,
    http://128.228.193.181:8080
  6. Press OK
  7. The stream should begin
