[edit] Email

    • Gmail shortscuts - faster workflow!
      • L - and start typing the name of a label to label the email with that
      • Shift + C - Compose a message in a new window
      • [ - Archive the current message and go backward in your inbox
      • ] - Archive the current message and go forward in your inbox
      • Shift + click - Open a label in a new window
    • Principles
      • Always archive, never delete
      • use labels as folders
      • Inbox should only contain important emails
        • reduce the noise (spam, listservs, non-profits that email you). have these things skip your inbox and go straight to a label/folder. check them once a day.
        • eliminate the notifications (facebook, flickr, twitter, youtube, etc). have these skip your inbox and check them once a day.
      • Instead of keeping emails that you need to respond to in your inbox, have a "NEED TO RESPOND TO" folder/label and put them in there. Check the folder once or twice a day when you have time to respond.
